I asked a question for my Instagram followers (@PlusOmar) and had them pick what should I post next. 55% asked me to write a blog post about the Apps I use to edit photos on my Phone. I should note here that I used an Android Phone, currently using the the first Pixel XL. So all the Apps that I'm going to mention are available on Android Phones.
The 14-24mm Lens is the best Ultra-Wide lens that I have ever used, The best way to get a sense of how wide this lens is, is to try it on a full frame camera body; you will be able to capture almost everything in front of you. This lens shines by shooting landscapes and architecture.
I consider the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 as the best versatile lens with a large f/2.8 aperture, the range it covers makes it useful to shoot wide angle shots to shooting nice looking portraits. I tend to take this lens with me when I don't feel like changing the lens or don't want to carry any extra lenses with me, it's a good lens for general purposes.
The Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 is one of the lenses that I sometimes carry, I usually use to shoot portraits and panoramas, it's not the ideal lens to shoot objects that are far away since 200mm is not that far in my opinion and that's why I usually carry a Nikon TC-20E III 2x Teleconverter with me when I'm taking this lens. The photos I got with this lens were really sharp and the Bokeh looks beautiful when shooting at f/2.8 with this lens.
The Nikon 50mm f/1.4G was the second lens I purchased when I bought my first DSLR, at that time I only got this lens because of what photographers were saying about it and how great it is, and honestly I really did not like it when I was using it on my crop frame DSLR's, but when I bought my full frame camera I started using it much more and use it as my 'to-go' lens often.
I've been on Instagram for few years now, at the beginning I was just posting random daily photos, I later started posting photos that I've been taking using my DSLR. A friend of mine told me few weeks ago that I've got plenty of awesome photos; but my Instagram profile is messy and has too much 'noise' in it.
I like to call myself a travel/adventure photographer; but since I'm kinda stuck in Kuwait for the next few months I've decided to start shooting portraits, I'll still use my HDR style whenever I can but shooting portraits is what you'll see me shoot in the next few months.
Heading back to Kuwait tomorrow with the chance of traveling somewhere else during my time there so I've decided to share with you a photo of what I'm taking with me for this trip, I've listed all the gear in the photo down:
Just bought the Sony a6000 and it will become my 2nd camera that I'm going to carry alongside my Nikon D800. I am stunned by how small this camera is comparing to the Nikon D800 next to it. The a6000 competes head to head with some of the larger size crop frame DSLR's such as the Nikon D7100. I can't wait to try this new camera on my upcoming trips and write a review about it.
I've decided to spend the day updating the website layout and pages, I took the Reviews post from the Home page since I felt that it was a bit distracting and disoriented. So I've created new pages for reviews to make things easier to find and in a much neater way.
I've always loved the Polaroid cameras, especially the old instant film ones. Polaroids had a special thing that no other forms of photography has, not digital and not even film. Some people even say that instant film photography is the only model that sticks to the true nature of photography since you don't get the chance of post-processing the photo; what you shoot is what you get.
I've been using the Dell Chromebook 11 for few months now, during that time I took this 11.6" Chromebook on 2 trips and leaving my workstation at home. I wanted to see how a Chromebook can be useful to photographers. Also I wanted to use the chromebook mainly to transfer files from my memory cards to an external hard drive. I have been amazed by some aspects of this Chromebooks but it does have it's limitations.
Oh Boy....The first post is always the toughest to write so I'll try to keep it short.
First of all I would like to welcome you to my personal website where I'll be posting my photos, reviews and some tutorials. My plan is to make my post fun and simple to read for everyone, I've got some ideas that I can't wait to share with everyone.
Thank you, and looking forward for what the future might bring for me and you.
